Position Overview:

Insulet's Medical Affairs team adds to our innovation journey by providing medical expertise to the organization to inform research and development, evidence generation and data dissemination, professional engagement, and medical education to advance our mission. The Medical Affairs Intern within the Medical Affairs (Evidence Generation, Strategy, and Communications) department at Insulet will assist in the dissemination of scientific data pertaining to Omnipod products to both internal and external audiences. This position will work directly with the Medical Affairs team while partnering with other cross-functional departments to co-develop resources appropriate to these audiences to further drive Insulet's mission to simplify life with diabetes.
Responsibilities:
- Create internal documents to prepare and disseminate information for diabetes-related conferences
- Assist in the development of documents to provide scientific responses to healthcare providers via Medical Information
- Lead the development of a key project within Medical Affairs based on candidate's interests and Medical Affairs needs
- Assist with general clinical and publication responsibilities: understanding review and approval process for publications & processes for publication development including abstract drafts, poster drafts, managing publication review emails, and assistance with editing and formatting manuscripts for journal submission
- Generate early drafts of publication deliverables based on past examples such as abstract drafts, poster drafts, manuscript drafts, or associated templates
- Contribute to scientific integrity of publications deliverables by validating data to the source and identifying potential errors
- Assist with the dissemination of scientific materials for internal teams
- Analyze scientific literature related to diabetes therapies, standards of care, and technologies to inform product development and commercial strategies.
- Support other team members and cross-functional teams as needed
Education and Experience:
Minimum Requirements:
- Currently enrolled in a PharmD, Master's or PhD level program working towards a degree in health sciences field
- Knowledge of healthcare, biology, life sciences
- Knowledge of type 1 & type 2 diabetes disease states
Preferred Skills and Competencies:
- Ideal candidates will demonstrate strong communication and collaborative skills to work cooperatively between several internal and external teams
- Experience with deciphering scientific evidence and communicating key points
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite & Teams
- Ability to thrive in a multi-tasking environment
- Self-driven by deadlines and regularly meets or exceeds expectations

Additional Information:
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $30.00 - $37.50. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position in the primary work location in the US. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
