THE OPPORTUNITY AT HAND
OCLI is searching for a Research Coordinator to join our practice. The research coordinator, under general supervision and direction, will be responsible for the coordination and administration of multiple research studies and work closely with principal investigators and research staff, helping to facilitate all aspects of assigned clinical trials. You'll implement study protocols in accordance with regulatory and institutional requirements and help identify candidates for screening and recruitment. This role interacts with study participants diagnosed with various medical conditions and diagnoses and requires exceptional customer service skills.
OUR EXPECTATIONS OF YOU
- Oversee the smooth running of clinical trials
- Collect, code and analyze data obtained from research
- Inform participants about study objectives and administer questionnaires
- Adhere to research regulatory and ethical standards
- Maintain detailed records of studies as per FDA guidelines, including things such as drug dispensation
- Participate in subject recruitment and screening efforts
- Ensure that the necessary supplies and equipment for a study are in stock and in working order
- Provide an optimum patient experience - engage with participants and understand their concerns
- Assist with general technician duties including refraction, visual field and visual acuity
- Assist in the clinic with patient work ups and imaging - EKG's, vital signs, phlebotomy with centrifuge, urine sample testing, corneal & buccal specimens
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED
- You have prior study coordination experience (Ophthalmology preferred)
- You have exceptional communication skills - can speak with sponsors, participants, physicians and staff with ease
- You're a master multi-tasker and are comfortable handling multiple studies at once
- You have a strong understanding of medical terminology, procedure codes and diagnosis codes as they apply to recruiting subjects for research
- Ability to communicate with Physicians, Managers and Division Chiefs in a professional manner
- You're detail oriented, organized, and are self-motivated
- You're willing to handle specimens and obtain certification for handling Hazmat Materials, i.e., dry ice
